Carlisle Castle

Carlisle is just a 40 minute drive from Seagreen. It's a great shopping destination, with lots of cafes and restaurants, plus a castle and Cathedral. We visited the castle during our last holiday and wanted to share this great attraction with all our guests.
The postcode for the castle is CA3 8UR, and parking is on a pay and display car park next door. A family ticket costs £41.80 and the castle is open most days, but check their website for any up to date closures.
Make your way through the gated entrance and be sure you take a look at the shop for some great souvenirs of your visit. From here, you can explore the castle, from the Military museum to Queen Mary's tower, this well preserved castle offers lots of adventures.
We enjoyed our visit, with dressing up as real life castle dwellers, to taking in the view from the castle walls. We stopped off at the cafe for tea and cake and then took time to relax on one of the many benches dotted around the grounds.
The castle is doggo friendly too, so the furry ones can come along and explore. We saw lots of dogs visiting the castle and noted water bowls placed around the grounds.
All in all, it was a great day out. And the town is only a short walk from the castle too, so finish off with a stroll around the shops or pop into the cathedral.
