  • Review of Seagreen View, Silloth
    This holiday at Seagreen View in Silloth was truly unforgettable. I stayed with my mum, dad, sister, and brother-in-law, along with our three dogs—and every single one of us felt completely at home.
    Dog-Friendly Heaven:

    Spike, my brave little fighter who’s currently battling cancer, especially loved it here. From the moment we arrived with his four legged cousins, Del and Dobby, they felt comfortable and spoiled with their very own welcome basket of treats and toys. Honestly, I couldn’t believe how spotless everything was—there wasn’t a trace of any previous dogs, no funny smells, nothing. The cleaning team are absolute legends—they made the place feel fresh, safe, and luxurious for both humans and pups! 😂

Steps from the beach, we spent hours walking along the shore, soaking up the calm, beautiful scenery. The town is just a short stroll away with cute shops and cafés—perfect for a little family adventure without ever feeling rushed.
    Outdoor Cabin Fun:

    The outdoor cabin was a dream! We had barbecues, toasted marshmallows, and cozy evenings under the stars. It was the kind of space where everyone—dogs included—could just relax and enjoy being together.
    Thoughtful Touches:

    From doggy first aid kits to air fryers, everything you could possibly need was provided. It really made life easy and stress-free, letting us focus on enjoying our holiday and making memories with Spike and the rest of the gang.
    Why It Was Special:
    
With Spike’s health challenges, this holiday felt extra precious. Seeing him happy, relaxed, and comfortable in such a welcoming home meant the world to us. It was a beautiful, calm escape where every member of our family—two-legged and four-legged—could just be.

  • Absolutely Amazing! We have just been lucky enough to stay at Seagreen View this Christmas. What can we say, the attention to detail was outstanding. Melanie and Gary have thought of everything and we mean everything. From the minute you walk in the door, the beautiful hall and stairway are like something out of a Christmas movie, beautiful yet cosy and the house smelt amazing. Every room is to the highest standard and yet they have managed to capture the homely feel throughout the whole house. Even hallways and alcoves designed to work and provide complete luxury as you move through the house. The facilities of the games room, arcade room, outdoor fire pit cabin, seating areas etc are second to none and provide something for everyone, I lost John for hours on end whilst he sat watching the birds at the bird
    feeder from the conservatory, quite magical to see, they really have thought of everything, a true home from home, so much so, that there were bags we didn't even unpack because everything was provided for us and the dogs, they loved it. Thank you so much Melanie and Gary for making our Christmas and we can't wait to stay again with our furry family xx

  • This was our third holiday at Seagreen View holiday home and it won’t be our last. We were a party of 6 adults 2 teens and 2 children- the house has everything you could ask for, morning coffee in the conservatory, films in the family room, kids loved the snug with PlayStation and toys , the bedrooms are beautiful and the bathroom is lovely , our 6 dogs love the freedom of being allowed anywhere in the house and loved their welcome pack of treats.
    The cabin is an added bonus for hot chocolate and marshmallows.
    We celebrated 2 birthdays and had a family Christmas day, a week early.

  • A great family stay to celebrate Graham's birthday. Lovely to stay somewhere that the dogs were not confined, so much more relaxing! weather was not very kind to us, so the games room was a Godsend and the evenings in the cabin - with marshmallows and 'Who wants to be a millionaire?' game, were superb. Also enjoyed The Fairydust Emporium, where the waffles are huge - also Wolf-iz for dog treats.

  • We have just returned from a wonderful week at Seagreen View and we had a wonderful stay! The house is beautiful, very comfortable and when I mean it is well-equipped, I mean Melanie and Gary have thought about ABSOLUTELY everything! We enjoyed day trips to Carlisle, Keswick and Maryport and when the sun was shining we enjoyed the sunbeds, the garden games and the brilliant (all weather) barbeque hut which might I add is gorgeous inside. The house is perfectly positioned only 5 minutes walk from the beach and Silloth green. I would also highly recommend The Cumberland Inn for some delicious pub grub (and the best homemade chips ever!) only a minutes walk from the house. We hope to return very soon. Do not hesitate to book this wonderful home as you will not be disappointed! 5 star!

  • Just returned from a fabulous Family week at Seagreen. Plenty to do for everyone ages from 67 to 15 months. The house is always better than we remember from previous visits, with so many toys for the Children we didn’t need to take any of theirs. Our Sons had a great time challenging each other to pool, ping pong and Darts, the games room is equipped with so much, inside and outside games. Silloth is a lovely place, 2 of our cars didn’t move all week, the Grandchildren loved Jaybees, it honestly was a tardis of a shop and sold just about everything. The green is lovely and of course the older Grandchildren loved the arcade.
    Thanks Melanie & Gary for letting us stay in your amazing House, we love it so much we have made 2 further bookings for 2026 & 2027. The dogs also said thanks for their treats and the welcome box was devoured with gusto.   • This was our first stay at Seagreen and it didn’t disappoint, it was so amazing we booked our second stay whilst we were still there!

    We had a beautiful welcome hamper on arrival which was a lovely touch and really appreciated The house is absolutely fantastic, it has everything you could want and more, we loved the games room & snug, and the cabin was a great way to spend the evening with family. The rooms are clean and spacious and have everything you and your furry friends could possibly need, everything has been so well thought out.

    We loved Silloth, it’s only a small village but has everything you need, a visit to Fairydust emporium is a must, we also had fantastic food from the Deli, Mario’s and the Cumberland Inn.

    We had a lovely relaxing break and were even blessed with a few days of sunshine so we’re able to make the most of the beautiful garden and sun loungers.

    Communication from Melanie & Gary was fantastic from the first enquiry right through to coming home, and they were on hand if we needed them during our stay.

    We can’t wait to return, we’re already counting down ❤️

  • Wow wow what an amazing holiday we have had. This was our 1st time here (July) and just wow. our new fav place. while we there, we booked another 2 holidays with melanie, as just beautiful and perfect. we fell in love straight away. our now happy place to come to. we came as family, 7 guests and 2 dogs who loved it. the rooms are so big and beautiful. kids loved it. it has everything you can think off. no matter the weather, you want for nothing, games room was wow the whole house so clean and tidy when you arrive. Chip shop around the corner 5 min walk was amazing, also Marios who deliver to the house was beautiful. Melanie and Gary have everything you need at their beautiful holiday home, only a message away at all times, kept in touch, we can not wait come back next year. thank you for making us feel so welcome.

  • This was our 2nd stay at Seagreen and was even better than the 1st time. We love everything about the house, it really feels so welcoming and comfortable and has everything you need.

    We spent a lot of time in the conservatory chatting, playing games, listening to music. The cocktail maker was well used for strawberry daquairis.

    BBQ cabin is amazing. Weather wasn’t great for June but we managed a couple of spells sitting in the garden. Loved the amusements and walks along the prom. People are very friendly.

    The house is spotless. Melanie is only a call or text away if any questions come up and gets back to you straight away. The only time I needed to contact her was for a takeaway recommendation, so that tells you how smoothly our holiday went.

    We have already booked our 3rd stay in this special place for next summer, absolutely love it.

  • We stayed at Seagreen View for 10 days...we were there to golf at the Silloth on the Solway course...we were literally right next door...location was fabulous...Seagreen View is Mel and Gary's work of art...they have created a wonderful vacation home with top of the line appliances... great beds...bathroom facilities...very spacious rooms. We could see the quality that they incorporated into their home and we commented on it to each other on numerous occasions...Mel was an absolute pleasure to deal with...she bent over backwards to accommodate any wishes we had...I told her I would prefer drip coffee vs. instant and upon arrival there was a brand new drip coffee maker..I would give it 20 stars if able...Wonderful place and hosts...Cheers

  • Wow wow wow, absolutely fantastic home. We didn't want for anything, Melanie and Gary have everything you would ever need. Even down to the dog tags, incase our little man got lost.
    So clean, and tidy on arrival, a lovely card and welcome pack even one for Eddie the dog💕.
    The bedrooms are fantastic, the games room was well used and the general living quarters above and beyond.
    We had a few days in just to chill and relax, and the house is so spacious nobody was in anybody's way.
    Hopefully be back in the summer months when we can take advantage of the beach, and promenade.
    Absolutely stunning from start to finish.

  • There was just the two of us and our dog but were lucky enough to be able to stay for a week out of season in October. This is a fantastic house and has absolutely everything a family would need. There is plenty of space for everyone - we only really used a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen & conservatory all of which were warm and cosy. The other rooms looked very welcoming as does the bbq cabin. We just wanted to chill and walk the dog and the location was ideal - we could do a circular walk down passed the golf club, along the beach to the end of the course, back thru the golf course to a lane and back home. We went further afield to other beaches but that was a favourite walk - so much beach and so few people and our fearful dog was in his element as he felt safe and secure. If you fancy a 5/6 mile walk then a walk to Grune Point is flat and easy along the coast and if you time it right you can see some stunning sunsets on the way back.
    Melanie & Co have thought of everything - from toys, treats, holiday dog tags and comfy beds and throws for the dog(s) to a large fridge freezer to accommodate a large amount of people especially if having a celebratory meal.
    More or less everywhere is dog friendly in Silloth -our dog loved Fairydust cos they chopped him up some sausages and made a fuss whilst we had our meal. We got a takeaway Sunday lunch from the nearest pub and they were friendly and accommodating despite being very busy.
    We went to the local butchers that has quality meat and fab pies and cooked a couple of meals -having got some produce from the local market but everything else is readily available from the Coop or Spar which is 5 mins away.
    Lastly praise should be heaped on Catherina for the presentation and cleanliness of the house. Everything was spotless! Would we stay again - definitely!

  • First visit to the house and region. The stay has been so relaxing for us and the dogs, and stress free. The dogs loved the beach every day and Teaghan enjoyed swimming. The green is great for exercising and the promenade goes on for miles. A few dog friendly pubs to wrap it up nicely. Melanie was very helpful when we needed help and responded very quickly. It's safe to say this won't be our last stay.
    P.S I loved having a real fire every night - so hypnotic.

  • 3rd visit to Seagreen and it just gets better. Thank you to Mel and Gaz for another wonderful stay and your cleaning team, house spotless! Cocktail making set was well used too! A trip to the Bank in town is a must, Bari at Bird in Hand for an amazing curry! Wildlife park is great for families and visit The Lakes Distillery for the grown ups. Stanwix Park was great for swimming and bowling, nice way to make use of your day pass. Whinlatter Forest had stunning views and national trust Beatrix Potter was wonderful too.   • Seagreen View is perfect for a family holiday including the fur babies. The home itself is beautiful and comfortable for all seasons.

    When I tell you that they have thought of everything, I genuinely mean it.

    The beach is lovely for walks and the area itself is beautiful,

    5 stars doesn't seem fitting, you are truly amazing.

    Just watch out for the cheeky magpies that like to hang about. We had a giggle asking them to leave x one of my favourite moments x

  • I would absolutely recommend a stay in this beautiful property. The owners have literally thought of everything. It is so well equipped with kitchen implements, gadgets, games, toys, things for the dogs if you take them to stay, umbrellas etc. I was amazed at the thought that went into making your stay as enjoyable as possible.

    We all loved the games room, the cabin, the kitchen, the snug and the conservatory. Well, we loved it all. Everywhere is clean, comfortable and designed so that you have a nice holiday with something for everyone. There are even well stocked bookcases.

    The owners go the extra mile and are on hand to answer any questions or queries you may have and they are really thoughtful. They left a well done banner for us as my daughter had recently finished all her A level exams.

    Thank you Melanie and Gary for allowing us to stay in your beautiful holiday home and for your efforts to make everyone's stay as pleasant as possible.

  • Recently back from seagreen which was a stunning home with plenty on offer, the weather wasn't great on our first few days but thanks to being able to use the BBQ cabin we could still enjoy BBQs no matter the weather, then there's the games room with pool table and table tennis which the kids loved and spent many hours, then theirs the snug with consoles and retro arcade.
    The house is done to a high standard and impeccably clean with lovely decoration with a homely feeling where pretty much everything has been thought off.

    Location is nice and peaceful with local shops, pubs, restaurants, and takeaways, it's only a short drive to many attractions and the lakes.
    5 minutes to the beach with amazing views and sunsets, my dogo didn't want to leave she really liked the size and freedom she had and enjoyed chilling in the conservatory.

    Melanie and Gary was absolutely fantastic from start to finish, nothing is to much trouble.
    It's a perfect base to spend quality time with family and friends,
    Theirs something for everyone at seagreen and the house has everything and we will definitely be back and would recommend it whole heartadly

    The location is great - easy access to the wonderful west beach and the town.

  • I would recommend a holiday to Seagreen without hesitation. The house is perfectly kitted out with everything you could possibly need. It is spacious but comfortable and cosy at the same time. The level of cleanliness is second to none. Catherina is an excellent house keeper and prepares everything wonderfully for your arrival. The hut is amazing, we had a great time roasting marshmallows with my grandchildren.
    The dogs absolutely loved it and settled very quickly, even our anxious little Cockapoo.
    The bedrooms are lovely and we all slept very well. The quality of the equipment in the kitchen is super, so much so it has given me new pan and knife set goals. 😁
    The area of Siloth and surrounding places are lovely to visit, you can get to many places in around 40 mins or less. Much of the drive through beautiful scenic countryside with amazing views.
    We ate at the Fairy Emporium twice, wonderful food and the dogs are treated like VIP'S. We had a Chinese from the KL chinese takeaway which was one of the best chinese takeaways I have had.
    Everything was wonderful I would return in a heartbeat. Thank you Melanie, Gary and family. Xx

  • This is a lovely home , and this is our second visit it’s perfect to accommodate all of our family. We went into the village for a few bites to eat and used the log cabin for a memorable night with our babies. It’s only 30-40 mins from anywhere really and we went out every day.   • Absolutely gorgeous house, I can't recommend it enough. Perfectly located for doggos; easy walks to the beach and the promenade. The town centre is a delight, lots of unique eateries to choose from. The house is huge, great for large families but also cosy for couples.

    Beautiful house and great location. Melanie was always there when needed. All of the facilities were perfect and catered for the whole family, from toddlers, teens, adults and the dogs!

  • The care and communication from Melanie has been so heartwarming. I've never felt so looked after. The house and everything in it reflects nothing but love and thoughtfulness. We spent much more time in the house than we've ever done anywhere before as the girls were so relaxed and just weren't fussed about trips out. We did a day at Stanwix park and enjoyed the beach, sea and mountain views.

  • Just returned from another perfect week. The house is home from home with plenty of space for 8 adults and 2 dogs beautifully cleaned with every household appliance included
    BBQ hut is great, perfect for bananas with marshmallows and chocolate wrapped in foil

  • Our second stay here as we loved it so much the first time. We love this house, the facilities are fantastic and we love the location. Close to a dog friendly beach where you can walk for miles! Close to lots of places to eat out or take away, all within walking distance. If you venture further afield, you have beautiful Buttermere.

    Melanie made us and our dogs so welcome and is approachable and helpful if you need to contact her. We had several conversations during our stay and she was really helpful and lovely.

  • Another fantastic stay at Seagreen! 3rd stay and already booked again. Got to enjoy the beautiful weather this time and made full use of the garden and BBQ hut. Stayed very local this time and explored with long walks, multiple ice creams and a few drinks lol. The Bank Tapas is still our favourite place to eat! Sunday dinner at the golf club is a close 2nd. Thank you to Gaz and Mel for a wonderful family birthday. The 10 of us had a blast. Lots of new memories made!

  • A brilliant place for a family holiday with pets. Both of us have had a unique stay with our families and their children. 2 Rounds of golf (Maryport and Silloth) plus walks on the beach with dog.   • Third stay now and still amazing as the first. It was so cold outside, but the house was very cosy. Even more so with a lovely log fire in the family room. Our dogs love it here and they are both highly strung, who bark at everything. I honestly cannot think of anything else you would need for a fabulous holiday. The introduction of the air fryer is also perfect, especially when you have a wedding 2 weeks after return. We are now on count down for staying at Seagreen with our sons and their wives, 2 grandchildren and 3 dogs in July. I cannot wait to show them everything the house has. I think it will be a very competitive week with all the activities the house has to offer between my 2 sons.

  • The perfect holiday home - if only we could book the weather too. Melanie and Gary provided everything from handwash to dishwasher tablets. My favourite chillax spot was the conservatory, so lovely. The kids enjoyed the games room and my son absolutely loved the snug. This house is just ideal for a large family break away but has all the homely touches. We loved the amusement arcade with the pushy machines. Food wise, the Bank was amazing and we loved the Fairydust Emporium for lunch. The BBQ hut was a first for us - so enjoyable. If we were ever going away with extended family, this is our first choice.

  • Have had a wonderful 1st visit to Seagreen View. The house is amazing - so spacious and well equipped. We have enjoyed walks around Silloth and along the coast to Grune Point and had a good climb through Dood Wood up to the summit. We have enjoyed 2 BBQs in the lovely hut and a fabulous meal at The Bank. Also watched lovely sunsets from the beach. Would love to come back.

  • We have had the best week!! We booked in 2020 and have counted down to the stay. Seagreen View did not disappoint. The house is so well equipped, we couldn't have wanted more. Perfect for our teenagers too. We were busy visiting lots of places, walking the coastal path at St Bees, arcade, seafront, fair, beach walks and Fairydust in Silloth with a visit to the Big Man and his view bench. We had a beach BBQ and fire to watch the sun go down which was amazing and frisbee fun. We visited Keswick, a lovely lake and town, and Carlisle was lovely too by the cathedral and castle and park. Amazing visit to Whinlatter mountain forest for a Segway tour and dog walk. The cafe was lovely too. Each night and lazy mornings, we relaxed at Seagreen, playing games, the Wii, table tennis and pool. Just a perfect week to getaway from it all and feel totally at home. This house is 10 out of 10. We loved the BBQ hut and thank you for welcoming us to stay. Great location and great owners.

  • After Covid forced us to postpone our original dates, we finally made it to this spectacular human and dog friendly house. We tried to find fault, but failed miserably. The location is perfect as is the peace and tranquility it provides. We've had an amazing holiday and the wait and 6 hour drive was well worth it.   • We stayed at this beautiful spacious, extremely and thoughtfully decorated holiday home for a long weekend with good friends. All appliances have clear instructions, first aid kit and fire blankets.

    The owners have left nothing to chance, the bbq hut is next level luxury. All bedrooms are very comfortable and cosy, everywhere is spotless, luxury bathroom, with an amazing shower.

    Take a lazy 5 minute walk into the quiet town of Silloth for a picture with the big man.

  • Bridget and Jake Fletcher and 3 dogs, Jeeves, Kellie and Bee. Wow, I booked this holiday a year ago! We have been so looking forward to it all through lockdown and it did not disappoint. The photos just do not do this holiday home justice. It was much bigger and more luxurious than we ever imagined. We had great weather and the deserted beach was wonderful. We have played table tennis and pool today and laughed like teenagers. We visited Dodd Wood, Keswick and Caldbeck.   • We stayed as a group of 5 adults, 2 children and a baby. Three generations. Everyone'e needs are perfectly catered for in this extremely well equipped home. Beautifully clean with thought given to everything that may be needed. BBQ hut is fab and the games room is great. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed spending time in the garden too. Plenty of seating for all. We visited the lake District Wildlife park and Maryport for the aquarium and the crazy golf, which all ages enjoyed.

Enjoyed the fabulous walks of Dodd Wood (the views are amazing) and Whinlatter. If you go to Buttermere, go early or late or you'll struggle to park but walked part of Crummock Water instead.     Top Tips: coffee from the golf club, best in town, they do wonderful weekend takeaway food until restrictions are lifted. Go to Dodd Wood, stunning - it's an escape. West Beach is always quiet, you could stay for hours. Enjoy your stay, it's magical!! countdown till next time is on!

The house is so dog friendly and it is unusual to find a cottage where the emphasis is on everyone's comfort, even the furry babies. I would come back here in a heartbeat.   • We have had an amazing time. You have a fabulous house which is beautifully decorated. Can't wait to return, hopefully with Brian and Mary. There is everything that we needed and more. It's so clean and fresh and the cabin is amazing. We spent too many nights in there, BBQing, listening to music etc. It was just the tonic we needed, plus we can't thank you enough for being so friendly. The dogs also had a great time.   • we have had a wonderful holiday in this amazing house. decor is beautiful - with so many lovely things, so much space and you have thought of everything.

    We have enjoyed the walks to the dunes and beach - hubby even had a swim a few times.

    ice creams, fish and chips and pizza were great value and very tasty.

    Thank you for all the welcome gifts and the use of your wonderful holiday home.

  • Well, where do I start...We have just stayed at Seagreen View for a week and had an amazing time! the house is beautiful , brilliantly catered for and so dog friendly, The decor and facilities were great. The bbq cabin and games room were just amazing and out of this world!! WE HAD LOTS OF FUN.

    Great location. Silloth is a lovely little town and not far from some beautiful places like Keswick, Hadrian's Wall and Carlisle.

    We would definitely recommend Seagreen View for anybody and we will certainly be returning again!!

  • we booked Seagreen view to celebrate a family members 80th birthday. there are 3 generations of us and 3 dogs. The house is fabulous, everything you could possible need. very comfortable and well furnished. we all loved the games room and the choice of board games/console games.

    Great location, the dogs in particular loved the beach.

    The weather wasn't too great but brightened up in the end.

    We enjoyed a bbq cooked in the cabin.

    We sampled fish and chips from Silloth cafe and a takeaway from Royas and ice creams from the ice cream factory. Berry's Bakery made a delicious birthday cake!

    We would recommend the cumberland Inn in Silloth for sunday lunch.

    Nothing is too much trouble for Melanie and Gary, they were always there to help.

    We have all had a great time and would highly recommend staying here.

  • Thank you so so much! What a beautiful holiday home. This break has been so so longed for. I know the area well and spent a lot of my childhood here. this trip felt extra special due to the amazing house and your hospitality too. I could easily have stayed at Least an extra week. We adore Silloth and surrounding areas and always visit Maryport as my late grandad grew up there. The games room and of course the cabin are such wonderful extras. We have absolutely loved our time at Seagreen View.

  • This house is amazing! Silloth is amazing!! Great beach walks in the evening. Bobby the dog was in heaven. Everyone is so friendly and within easy walk of beach and promenade. Then to come back to a house which feels like a home away from home is the icing on the cake. The views of the golf course is the cherry on top. Will defo be back.
