Me, my phone and social media
Back in 2019, I was the girl who never knew where her phone was and if I was lucky enough to find it, it wouldn't have any charge. People would ring and message and I wouldn't get get back for weeks, if at all, and then my relationship with social media was almost non-existent. I would post the odd weird quote, random piece of information or used it as a place to store my photos. But in 2019, that changed.
When the idea of Seagreen was first born, I knew the direction I wanted to take. I knew it had to be about selling a fun family holiday and not just a house and I knew photos, videos and stories was the way to go. It didn't take long to realise that social media was the best way to do this.
I quickly enlisted the help of Charlotte to navigate me through the minefield of Facebook and Instagram and to teach me the basics. We soon had a page set up on Facebook and started to fill it with all our plans. It took off so quickly, with hundreds of people joining us and watching the journey.
Now, 6 years later, my phone never leaves my side. Whether I am taking a shower, walking Maisie or eating my Christmas lunch, my phone has it's place at my side and takes priority over everything else.
2019 me would think this is intolerable and not worth it but to the 2025 me, it's essential. If our guests need us, then we are always available to help, unless I am asleep of course. If you wish to book a stay, then you want to do it now and we get that so we do our best. When it's about holidays, there's no waiting time, so when my phone bings, I am back to work straight away. (as I am typing, my phone has just pinged!!)
And I love it!!!
